The Home Buying Process

1: Decide you are ready to buy a home

2: Get pre-approved with a lender

3: Choose a Realtor

4: Determine a location and price range for your home purchase

5: Look at houses with your realtor

6: Select a home and submit a contract/offer

7: Seller can accept the current contract or counter the contract with a counter offer.

8: Once an agreement is made and both parties sign, you are officially ‘under contract’

9: Earnest money will be deposited with Title Company

10: Complete a Home inspection (cost to buyer ~ $200-$500)

11: If necessary– re-negotiate terms of the contract based on home inspection findings.

12: Lender will order an appraisal on the property (cost to buyer ~$200- $300)

13: Get homeowners insurance and send documentation to lender

14: Title company will prepare all documents to ensure the property has a clear title

15: Attend closing, sign all necessary legal documents and get keys!
